The drone has became more and more popular, and many people are interesting in flying drones, but for these newbies of drone, they don’t know how to fly a drone, they need some help or guide on fling drones. There are 3 ways to learn how to fly a drone and you can choose one for yourself. The 3 common ways are:
- Build/Buy a full size quad and Learn how to fly
- Learn on Drone FPV simulators
- Learn on small, toy grade micro quadcopters
For these 3 ways. I would probably avoid the first way at all cost. Not only it’s dangerous, it’s also expensive if you crash and break the parts, especially its drone lipo battery, you will cost much on drone lipo batteries, if you don’t know how to choose a right brand drone battery for your drone, you will not get a happy flight time . Unless you have friends that can guide you through the building and flying, then it would probably save you money and time and much safer.
If you are getting into this on your own, I think it’s best to start with FPV simulators, also with practices on a micro quadcopter. Simulators I’ve used and would recommend right now is Skylark M4-FPV250. Skylark M4-FPV250 is a Mini Racing Sport Quadcopter, it is also used to racing, but you can accord your need to use it. There are some parameters of Skylark M4-FPV250.
Weight: 395g (without battery)
Total Weight: 554g (advise equip with a 150g weight lipo battery)
Flying Time: about 10min
Suggest Battery: 1300mAh 4S (Tattu 1300mAh 4S high discharge lipo)
1 x FPV250 Racing Quad Frame
4 x MT1806 Brushless Motors(2 CW + 2 CCW)4 x 12A ESC
4 x 5030 Propellers (2 CW + 2 CCW)
1 x RC Transmitter (6-channel)
1 x RC Receiver (6-channel)
1 x 5.8G 600mw Video Transmitter
1 x 5.8G Receiver (Optoinal, need to be purchased separately)
For choices of micro quadcopter, I would recommend getting one that allow you to install Cleanflight or Betaflight, so you can get some experience on configuring the software (which you will also use on a full size drone later on). I think right now, the Eachine E010 with Betaflight compatible FC is my favorite setup for beginners. And you also can buy one Wingsland S6 drone, it is easy to beginners, and it is used for shooting, like DJI Phantom, but very little.
There are many different ways and quadcopters for choose in the world, you can test much times and get rich experiences.
